It seems some guys believe that the ladies that turn up for singles events yearn to have a boyfriend.

I beg to differ - I believe that the ladies  are there to see whether there are quality guys to be their boyfriend.

The difference might be subtle but is real

I supposed when they mean quality, it is a combination of factors like neatness, financially secure and able to carry a conversation without constantly staring at certain body parts.

A Quality man is a confident man. He holds himself well, takes care of himself by careful grooming and fashions himself well. How does he fashions himself well? By having female friends whom he can shop for new clothes with!

Plus, he is not needy, he does not behave like he has to have female companionship. He is aloof but socially savvy and friendly. He is positive about life and does not complain much.

I think a quality man is one has good values, integrity, and truly is a one woman man. Is not easily distracted but steadfast and persistent in his direction. He is faithful and willing to sacrifice for his spouse and family. He is understanding and has a sense of humour. Anyone out there like that? I am sure there are. Please show yourself.

I feel that it applies to both sex parties. Not only ladies who are there to seek for quality guys, but also guys who are there to have: "wife-like" qualities that they seek in the qualities they find. It's natural of course. :)
